Love that bird!
That Dorothy was such a wise woman. Lately I find myself thinking the answer to our problems involves not just more female energy but a way for both energies, male and female, to be valued and to be blended.
Love the puns! What Height says, and what Deb Shucka says--both are true. As women have obtained more legal and financial control over our lives, we've become more assertive in teaching the men in our lives--husbands, sons, employers, even fathers--to appreciate their tender sides, that violence and aggression are not the only or best answers. Men who call for peace, who refuse to take up arms, who advocate non-violent conflict resolution are no longer taunted, universally, as Nancy boys. There are more of them--including in the work place.
Perhaps the singular broad-stroke change I have witnessed since the 1950s is the increasingly active role men take in raising and nurturing their children. That is the change that gives me the most hope, for when corporate, government and world decisions are made with the children in mind, meaningful change can begin to occur at last.
I'm pro humane.
