summer solstice

What lies behind us and what lies before us are tiny matters compared to what lies within us.

~ Ralph Waldo Emerson ~

Summer's official beginning according to noaa.gov...June 21, 2010 @ 11:28 GMT. That's 4:28 in my part of the country. I have heard, however, that summer doesn't come to Portland until July 5th. Based on my more than 1/2 century of experience of wet Rose Festivals and Fourth of July fireworks in pouring down rain--I believe it.

No matter when the sun arrives...happy summer, everyone.

That quote is one of my favorites. The picture of the Hawaiian Monarch is gorgeous! Happy summer to you, too.

Hi Wanda -- I love this quote by Emerson. It's one of my favorites. I found your blog through Se'Lah when I read your guest interview. BTW, I agree with what you said wholeheartedly in that post. So you are not alone!!!
