11:11

(reflection in the mirror in the window)

Coincidence is when God chooses to remain anonymous.

~ Unknown ~

Lately, I have been noticing repeating numbers more than usual. 11:11...3:33...2:22--or sometimes 222.2 miles on my odometer. Twos have taken the front row. Any pattern can appear, though. One of my favorites is 12:34.

There is a movement afoot of those who are noticing 11:11, in particular. Their belief is that it is a time prompt from a group of Spirit Guardians--just 1111 in number--reminding us of their presence.

Sheldon Kopp, a psychologist/psychotherapist and author of many books including If You Meet Buddha on the Road, Kill Him, said--and this is not a direct quote--that we choose the myths we live by so we might as well choose ones we like. I've thought about that a lot.

For several months, I have been walking in faith. Sometimes I don't know where my foot will land with the next step, but I keep walking. I pray, asking for guidance and reassurance, and I have decided that each time I see a repeating number or a number sequence like this, it is a reminder to me that God is with me. The Beloved is on my side and I am reassured that my foot will fall on something that will bear my weight. Once I decided to believe that numbers are gifts to remind me, I started seeing them even more often--multiple times each day.

11:11 and 222.2 to you, my friend. After all, aren't numbers just a reflection in the mirror in the window?

I love that.

I went through a period a few years ago where I woke up at 11:11 Every. Night. I think of it as a gateway. It makes me feel secure, knowing that the powers greater than I are taking care of things.

Love the post...and the pic.

Anything that puts in the presence of The Beloved is to be celebrated.

I, too, love the 11:11 phenomenon. I see it...lots! It is a comforting reminder to me that higher powers--spirits, angels, God?--are present in my life.

I can't tell you why exactly, but there is something about this post that is a lovely gift, moreso than usual. I've read and re-read it several times in the last few minutes. I was thrilled to see more words from you--a feast almost. That's part of it.

Then there's the feeling that the image is a reflection of a reflection of a reflection. It pulls me in. I want to know more. Want the light to come on, but then I don't, because we'll lose the exterior glow.

Somehow all of that fits with the repeating numbers. Reflection on reflection on reflection ...

May everything you need be at hand, always.

margie--Maybe the guardians had to put sound to it so you would wake up and see the numbers?

Carrie--thanks. I love that it is true.

rebecca--How wonderful to know that greater powers are taking care of things. I am so glad you feel secure in that.

Deb--I. Absolutely. Agree.

Joan--It always makes me think of you, too, when I see these numbers.

Kathryn--So glad you are back in blog land...and I love your reflections on the reflections. Thanks for the blessing.

Ok, so yesterday I read the blog and loved it. can't say i've noticed it. i have noticed alot of 8:01s but thought that was because that's the address of the house i grew up in. BUT then this morning, i was driving and what does the odometer say? 111.1. I laughed out loud.

I think of you, too, Wanda because you are the one who explained to me what I have been experiencing for years but didn't have an explanation for.

Wanda, it is beyond coincidence that I would find this post here today. My mom used to look at the clock and see it was 1111 all the time. It started to scare her, and indeed she ended up passing in the 11th month of the year, 11th hour of the day. In the last 2 months since she died, when I notice 1111 I say, "hi mom!" Today would have been her 77th birthday, so I thank you for this little message!
