raccoon

I walked out the front door this evening and saw four of these creatures. Raccoons are nocturnal, so seeing them out and about in the daylight is unusual.

Apparently, spring has sprung and when raccoon hormones are running high--it doesn't matter what time of day or night.

(I took these pictures at dusk with a point-and-shoot without a tripod. Sorry for the blur.)

They have a message for you. I'd look up the symbolism of raccoons, if I were you.

Wow. Close your garbage can lids tightly.

THe kids love a book called Rascal by Sterling North about a raccoon.

I'm surprised the masked bandits are out in the daylight.

I just met you at the Necessary Room. We are neighbors, in the same city. Raccoons come visiting in my yard sometimes, but I try to scare them away. They are definitely naughty rascals.

Will we be seeing pictures of the boys checking out their new guests?

The younger raccoons don't always follow the rules and this guy looks sort of little. Probably a teenager out after curfew.
