Still not quick enough to get all the settings just right, but at least I got the shot...and not because I was quick. Thanks for posing, little buddy.
Update: Yes, that is St. Francis.
Light and shadow. Foreground and background. Stand in the inbetween. Dance in the middle. That's what I'd do.

How cute is that?! I think you got a pretty good shot considering how fast those little guys move. I love it. I'm here from Tracey's...
Ha! We have a huge squirrel population here as well, much to my husband's consternation and my children's amusement. They are fast little buggers! Nice capture!
sometimes it's sooo not about the settings but about the moment...and I LOVE this moment! What a fun capture...such a fluffy tailed squirrel :)
Ooooh, he is so cute! It takes great timing to capture one of those little guys.
Is that St. Francis? How appropriate!
Good for you. I always seem to panic and lose the shot. (By the way I love elephants too and loved that my sister posted her little snow elephant today).
That is one fat squirrel! Geez Louise! I wonder if he's an emotional eater!
Too funny! We have loads of squirrels too. Kids LOVE them! I encourage the the buggers (squirrels that is) by throwing peanuts around the yard. It's hard to get 'em to stay in one place for the photo.
Wow - I can never get close enough or ready in time to shoot a squirrel. I love him sitting on the statues head. Thats great!
Yay! You got that darned shot! Very cool!
I hear ya on the settings! You did better than I did!
Cute!! :D
