"so let us begin anew..."

So let us begin anew -- remembering on both sides that civility is not a sign of weakness, and sincerity is always subject to proof. Let us never negotiate out of fear. But let us never fear to negotiate. Let both sides explore what problems unite us instead of belaboring those problems which divide us.

John F. Kennedy

I love this quote.

"sincerity is always subject to proof"

Yes!

I sincerely wish you a happy weekend.

Yes indeed. I'm trying not to remember all the times I've been disappointed on that score--sincerity having proved lacking, and pay attention more to the other part: "Let both sides explore what problems unite us instead of belaboring those problems which divide us." Lion and lamb, eh?

I admit that I have not found a good solution for communicating effectively with one whose word I no longer trust.
