envy

(on another note...this is the first thing i saw when i got up this morning)

You are about to see a side of me that I am not proud of.

If you read Pioneer Woman, you already know this. If you don't read her blog, check this out. I'll wait.

That's right. She sold the movie rights to her story from her blog! She hasn't finished writing the book yet. There is no screenplay--because there is no book yet. And Reese Witherspoon is considering playing Ree in the movie.

Sigh.

I am envious. I choose that word carefully. I'm not jealous. I don't want Ree not to have all these things. I am envious of her success. What a dynamo. I am sure if I were ever to meet her I would love her.

I am happy for her. Truly, I am.

Envious. Yep--me. According to "Make a Celebrity Collage," if someone were to play me in a movie...

...it would be Ray Liotta.

Dear Ray,

I am envious, too. Totally.

Yeah, you know that forgiveness thing...blaming a certain someone right now for the fact that I had to pull Anatomy of a Divorce before it could get so serendipitously discovered.

Oozing envy.

And gratitude that blogging has introduced me to so many marvelous folks and their stories.

Forgiveness is going to be a long road.

I'm not sure which I find more delightful - Ray as you or what you woke up to this morning.

Someone once told me (perhaps it was you?) that envy only serves to show us what we truly want. so it's not anything to be ashamed of. it's just reminding us what we desire. so there's nothing for you not to be proud of.

Oh, yeah, but you have to be willing to put your life out here, right? That's the scary part. And that's exactly what she did, along with some very good writing talent and no small skill. Superb story.

Carrie and Puanani...I thought you would get it.

Susan, thanks for remembering my words and giving them back to me. He would sooooo let you kiss his tummy.

Kathryn, you are right about putting one's life out there and Ree has done it beautifully. She is talented, indeed.
