Light and shadow. Foreground and background. Stand in the inbetween. Dance in the middle. That's what I'd do.

What a life! So glad you have this sweet soul to light your days.
As a child, no matter how poor we were, my mother had a flower garden in addition to the vegetable garden, for she, like Muir, believed we need a touch of beauty. Ofttimes, as she laid a fresh bouquet on the table, she would quote the scripture that ends, "and a hyacinth for the soul."
Thank you for that reminder of a comforting memory.
