absurdities

(just a second before this, each one of them was in a sink)

It is a glorious destiny to be a member of the human race, though it is a race dedicated to many absurdities and one which makes many terrible mistakes: yet, with all that, God ... gloried in becoming a member of the human race.

~ Thomas Merton ~
from A Book of Hours

Perhaps one of those absurdities is that many times I wish I were a cat--at least one of my
cats.

I see nothing at all absurd about that. So nice of you to provide each of your cats with his own sink.

I love ol' Tom Merton. I love your cats. I love you.

Cats and kids--just won't sit still for the cute shot. Pretty all the same. My mom says God wanted to be a part of the human race because, for the short time we're here, we get to feel what it is like to be alone. One. If we keep up the illusion that is. ; )

I love your quotations.

I've always said that any cat who gets me, my sister, or my mother, has hit the kitty cat lottery. I've added you to the list. My sister's cats have their cool condo in the city and then they have their 'country estate', where their staff dotes on them when in residence. (actually their grandmother, who gives them a little 'treat' any time she or their grandfather eats--in addtion to their regular meals) Maybe it's a good thing they're indoor cats. Don't want to make all the other cats jealous.

No one could be pampered any more or treated any better than one of your cats. That would be the life!
